Continuation of Awesomeness...

My schedule is finally forming and shaping. Thursdays I have a pre youth group early in the morning and then we go down to Conte (the bottom of the mountain) eat lunch, do some planning, have a book 2 study circle, have a pre youth class, then a devotional gathering at 6 and then help this girl named Katia with her English homework. Friday morning we take the bus to Paso Canoas which is the border with Panama and do grocery shopping and internet, mail, anything like that. Then we go back to Conte to plan for a children´s class that is an hour´s walk to La Escuadra and then I tutor another book 2, walk back and tutor a book 1 and study Conozcamos la Fe Bahai with some adults. Spend the night again at Conte and then Saturday morning walk up the mountain to the Bahai Center to do a Pre Youth Class with German (Herman) and then another pre youth class in Brazo Izquierdo. So the activity is amazing. I love it!
I´ve learned to apply organization skills, unity skills, observation skills, listening, etc. basically a whole bunch of ¨sweet skills¨
Yesterday Parviz woke Mateen and I up saying that there was a snake in their room and asked if we wanted to kill it. Immediately we wake up and grab some machetes and Parviz knocked it down with a stick and paralyzed it and then Mateen and I went for the kill. It´s length is my height if not longer. We video taped it too although not all the action is caught on tape, so someday it´ll be released in theatres near you.

Stay tuned!!

Oh my gosh!!!
So much to tell. There are so many people I have met, and there are still plenty more to meet. I feel so proud of myself for remembering everybodys name because thats something ive been working on. Usually im good at remembering faces but not names, so its good.
I was in San Jose and Ciudad Colon until the 13th. I was part of the beginning stages of a teaching campaign that just got started and it was a blast!! I got to make friends with the youth in the city and more community members. Now I can´t wait to go to the city once in a while to be with them.
August 13th
I got to meet Mateen (my partner in crime....and service). We rode the bus with Parviz and Ann Ighani (our hosts)to Conte (8hour drive). met many Guaymis there established a good first start. Mateen and I unloaded our luggage and put in rice sacks so we could carry our stuff on the horses. Don Jesus is the man! he´s a local who helped us. We took two horses up (Pinto and Mora). I guided Pinto. The walk was amazing and very stimulating to the mind. A lot of mud, rain, steep inclines, locals, noises, dinosaurs, river crossings and breathtaking views. 10 minutes close to home, we were walking on a 2 foot wide trail and then a 10 foot deep crevice next to us. It was night time by now and slipery....I tried to lead pinto as far away from the crevice, but as i was doing that, he fell into the ditch. Bobre modo (poor horse. in Ngabere(Guaymi language)).

...........

well there is so much more to talk about, but Mateen and I have to go to Laurel before we miss the bus.

MUCH LOVE!!!

First Day!

COSTA RICA MAE!!!

So I arrived at around 4:30pm on August 8th. The airport has only 3 gates but really big gift shops and stuff for all the tourism. On the airplane I met a wonderful elderly couple from San Rafael de las montanas, but they're American. I talked to them all 3 and half hours of the flight. We talked about WWII, U.S.A., the world, and the Baha'i Faith. They got my contact info and I got theirs and they invited me to be with them. so nice! I met a group of guys from India who are here in Costa Rica for 16 days to vacation. I was attracted to them through their singing in the airplane. I hung out with them the whole time out of the airplane through customs and out. They were great!
The airplane lost one of my bags, but hopefully this morning it'll arrive. It's all good. Jere McKinney picked me up and showed me around and took me to their house, met his wonderful wife, Julie, and then I met David, Gianni and their daughter Ella. Beautiful people!
I feel very much at home (Colombia) here ever since landing the airplane in costa rica and everybody started clapping! it's a custom among Latin Americans to clap when you land an airplane. I would do that in other airplanes in U.S. but I would be the only one. haha..."awkward." I love being in this home in the city, surrounded by nature, open windows and doors and no AC. This morning I woke up at 5:30, my body's circadian rhythms immediately got accustomed to this time set here in Costa Rica. Today I'll visit with some Bahai's and enjoy their company.

stay tuned for more!

MUCH LOVE!!
